Obituary for Harold "Skip" Hanna

Harold W. "Skip" Hanna passed away Dec. 7, 2014 at home in The Villages, Fla.

He was born on April 15, 1943 to Linwood A. Hanna and F. Elizabeth Hanna. He graduated from Bristol High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a longtime commercial fisherman in Maine and Florida and was the owner/operator of Little Echo Lobster in New Harbor.

Skip spent his winters in The Villages, Fla., but always returned to New Harbor in the spring to tend to his garden and visit with his many friends.

Skip was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert; and nephew, Stephen.

Skip is survived by his fiancée, Pam Smith; brother, John and wife Bunny of The Villages, Fla.; nephews, John, wife Meghan and son Trip of Hooksett, N.H., Ted, wife Bronwen and children Tyler, Zachary and Madison of Pemaquid, and Adam and wife Beth of Stratham, N.H.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, on Sunday, July 19 at the Harrington Cemetery in Pemaquid, with the Rev. Ken Dale officiating. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
