A Celebration of Life for Craig A. Simmons, 60, of Longview was held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of Friday the 24th of February 2017 in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, with Chaplain Lawrence Thompson officiating. Mr. Simmons passed away at his home Sunday, the 19th of February 2017.
Craig was born the 4th of September, 1956, in Waldoboro, Maine. He came to Longview five years ago from Zephyrhills, Florida and worked as locomotive engineer at Rail Serve.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his mother, Gloria Juhase of Longview, Texas; daughter, Patricia Hudson and husband Brett of Enterprise, Alabama; son, Craig Simmons, Jr. of Enterprise, Alabama; brother, Michael Jackson of Zephyrhills, Florida; sisters: Sandy Hines and husband, Robert of Longview, Texas; Susan Kennedy of Longview, Texas; Terry Collura and husband, Michael of Zephyrhills, Florida; and Lynda Hines of Dade City, Florida; granddaughter, Alyssa Simmons of Enterprise, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Thursday, the 23rd of February 2017 from 6 o’clock in the evening until 8 o’clock in the evening in the Library of Welch Funeral Home. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made in Mr. Simmons honor to the American Cancer Society.
Spring Interment will be in the Orff's Corner Cemetery in Waldoboro. Local arrangements are under the care and direction of Starong-Hancock Funeral Home, Damarsicotta.
