Condolence: This message is for Sue Bradley who I believe is Dana's niece, my late husband Alan Davis and I met Dana many years ago. He was a lovely, gentle man. I am not sure exactly when we learned that he was related to Sue, but I could understand how they could be from the same family. My condolences to Sue and the entire family. Jeanne Davis

Condolence: I met Dana only recently, as he used to drop by donations from the Pemaquid Lighthouse at Bob Kline's place over the last couple of years. Bob and I visited Dana several times at Miles during the last weeks of his life. He was a kind, giving man with a gentle, dry wit, and I was very sorry he passed from this life before I knew him better. I am saddened that he is gone, and I send my best wishes and thoughts to his family.

Condolence: I met Dana the first time my husband, Don brought me to Chamberlain and had the privilege to spend time in the cottage next door to the house that he and Helen lived in on Route 32. Dana was always so kind to us and after he retired he made a point of visiting us every summer when we came to Maine. He will be missed.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Dana's passing. Visiting him at the Post Office was an integral part of my yearly childhood visits to Maine, and I remember insisting my parents wait outside while I went in to see Mr. Small. Trips to the Post Office were anticipated and cherished because his kind, patient and generous spirit made me feel important and special. Even after he left the Post Office and my trips to Maine grew more sporadic, he made an effort to stop by when I was in town and kept in touch through my family. I will remember his sense of humor and warmth, and hope to reflect even a bit of his caring to the people in my life. Dana was a truly unique and exceptional man. My deepest sympathies are with Helen and his family. Best, Chris Burton

Condolence: It is with sadness that the Friends of Colonial Pemaquid note the passing of Dana Small. We all had occasion to work with Dana over the years, and always enjoyed his quiet dedication and hard work (including the ongoing challenge of soliciting volunteers for our gift shop) not to mention his steadfastness and friendship. He was an exceptional person and we sincerely regret his loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. Don Loprieno president The Friends of Colonial Pemaquid
