Obituary for Anne Pinkham

Anne Clark H. Pinkham, passed away on the evening of May 10th at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta, just two days shy of her 91st birthday. Born on May 12, 1926 in Newcastle, on Willow Farm, she was the daughter of Eben and Helen Haggett of Newcastle.

Anne grew up on Willow Farm in Newcastle, attending local schools and Lincoln Academy. She worked several in-town jobs at Briggs Pharmacy and Reny’s department store. She and her husband of 53 years, Meredith B. Pinkham “Med”, enjoyed camping and fishing trips, especially Moosehead Lake, with weekend fishing on Damariscotta Lake and the ocean.

Anne loved hosting family and friend get togethers, and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Anne’s (MiMi’s) last several years before going into assisted living were special for her, as her grandson Daniel lived and looked after her.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hobbs of South Paris; four children, Linda Cleaves of Portland, Meredith Pinkham, Jr. “Ben” of Howland, Margo Huntley of Newcastle, and Tammy Pinkham of Bremen; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

At Anne’s request, there will be no service. There will be a private family burial at the Lincoln Cemetery in Newcastle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lincoln Cemetery Association, 277 Main Street, #10, Damariscotta, ME 04543.
