Ramona M Sawyer, 85, of New Harbor, passed away on the morning of November 28th at the LincolnHealth - Miles Campus, with her loving daughters by her side. She was born April 17,1932 to Muriel Shaw Cutler and Raymond Porter Cutler of Malden, MA..
She and her family moved to Round Pond, Maine in her adolescent years where she attended the Washington School in Round Pond. She later went on to graduate from Bristol High School as Valedictorian of her class.
Ramona worked for many years as a postal clerk in Round Pond until her retirement. She enjoyed listening to the music coming from her barn in Round Pond from the multiple bands her son Dickie played in over the years.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William (Billy) R. Hall; and son, William (Dickie) R. Hall; as well as husband, Kenneth Y Sawyer.
Ramona leaves behind two daughters, Cynthia L Sheppard of Safety Harbor, FL & Pamela Hall-Gaeth and husband Richard of Wiscasset; grandson, William (Alex) Gaeth of Damariscotta; granddaughters, Sarah & Jessica Sheppard, both of Palm Harbor, FL., Brittany Carter and husband Chris of Nobleboro; great granddaughters, Emily Carter of Nobleboro, and Sydney Gaeth of Damariscotta. She also leaves behind stepchildren, Kay Hannah & husband Peter, Jeri Pendleton & husband Ron, and Brian Sawyer & wife Linda, all of New Harbor; along with several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gifford of Round Pond and Elsie Graffam of Bath; along with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 9th at 11:00am, at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, with the Rev. Richard Newell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, #300, Topsham, ME 04086.
