Jane A. Peeler, 94, formerly of Colonie, NY, Wayland, MA and Glenshaw, PA, passed away on January 10, 2018 at the Greenwood Center Nursing Home in Sanford, Maine. She was born on March 12, 1923 in Middle Granville, NY. She is the daughter of Patrick and Beatrice Francis.

Jane is survived by four children; Douglas Peeler and partner John Diehl of San Diego, CA, Marygrace Sirois and her husband Richard of Waterboro, ME. Wendy Stormer and husband Tom of Allison Park, PA, John Peeler and his wife Sandra of Morrill, ME. Mrs. Peeler is also survived by her 3 grandchildren; Jonathan Sirois of Philadelphia, PA, Jessica Jones and her husband Lt. Commander Adam Jones currently serving in Japan and Morgan Stormer of Allison Park, PA; and two great-grandchildren; Alexandria and Zachary Jones residing in Japan.

Jane is predeceased by her husband LaVerne and her son Mark.

In addition to raising her 5 children, Jane was a candy striper during WWII, a top sales executive at Filene’s (Macy’s) and obtained her real estate license. As a retiree Mrs. Peeler spent several rewarding years as a hospice home health care aid.

Services will be held at the St. Clare’s Catholic Church in Colonie, New York in the spring. Donations may be made in honor of Jane to the Greenwood Center Employee Fund, 1142 Main St., Sanford, ME 04073; or to Compassus Hospice, 23 Spring St., Suite C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
