Obituary for Robert Dufour

Robert  Dufour
Robert E. Dufour, 77 of Bristol Mills, passed away on the morning of January 29th, 2018 at the LincolnHealth - Miles Campus in Damariscotta. Most recently, he had been living with his daughter in Damariscotta. Born on July 4, 1940 in Windsor, he was the son of Annie (Hopkins) and Wilfred J. Dufour, Sr.

Mr. Dufour was a 1958 graduate of Erskine Academy where he loved to play, and excelled at, football. Robert worked may jobs throughout the years, and was one of the select few that had an Elver license that he loved to do with the boys.

He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and NASCAR. From 1963-1970, he raced stock cars at Wiscasset Speedway.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Jones) Dufour; brother, Wilfred J. Dufour, Jr.; and two sisters, Marion Genthner and Mary Baker.

He is survived by his two daughters, Delora White and husband Kevin White of Damariscotta, and April Fiore and husband Chris Fiore of Skowhegan; a son, Kevin Dufour of Bristol Mills; a granddaughter he brought up as a daughter, Bridget Dufour of Damariscotta; grandson, Christopher Fiore, Jr. of Skowhegan; granddaughter, Christina Anderson; as well as a great-grandson, Devlin Teele and five other great-grandchildren.

A time to gather with his family will be held from 2:00-3:00pm, on Friday, February 9th at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543, with a service to follow at 3:00pm. He will be laid to rest in the springtime.
