Condolence From: Anna Barber
Condolence: I was sorry to hear that Arthur has died and I want you to know that I always enjoyed being around him and his sly humor. During the year that he was head cook at GSB, we all ate like kings, with many of us abandoning our brown bag lunches in the teachers' room so that we could speed down to the cafeteria on his quiche days. I will always remember him with a smile.

My Arthur story:
Arthur was my Geriatric Hippy from the time I met him more than 10 years ago when I was running the snack bar, at Montsweag Flea Market. My mother was still alive and running the Flea Market, Arthur sold his Antiques. After he set up he’d then come for coffee & something to eat, usually something Mama had made for the snack bar. I teased him every day he was there, calling him “My Geriatric Hippy” because he wore a ”wife beater” & a Peace sign on a leather necklace, his tattoos showing, with his gray beard and gray long hair, he just looked like a Geriatric Hippy to me. Later when Mama passed, I needed help with the Flea Market Arthur became my “Left hand Man” everyone else has a right hand man but being I’m left handed he had to be my Left. From then on we became great friends. Everyone thought he needed a title other than my nick names so we dubbed him the Assistant Manager. I could count on him when ever I needed him and he me. He ran the market several times when I was not able to be there due to E’s health, even mine when I had my heart by-pass he completely finished the season for me. I will miss him terribly, listening for him to walk through the kitchen door an hour before we open to check the schedule for my mistakes, he’d just role his eyes we’d fix it, off he’d go to open the gate even if it was earlier than we opened. E will miss him the most for the fishing & hunting talks they would have when he was there for a visit. Arthur was always happy to hear that a dealer had a great day. He’ll be missed by many and will be there in spirit this season, watching over us with Mama and will want everyone to have FUN and make lots of Money. We love you Arthur, and we’ll see you “LATER”

Condolence: My dear Cheryl,

I'm so sorry to learn of Arthur's passing.

He was the nicest, kindness man. Montsweag won't be the same without him.

I can just see him now, "Truckin" in Heaven with Jerry.

Take care of yourself, my sincere sympathy,

Marilyn

Condolence: Please accept my condolences for the passing of your dear loved one. When someone we love dies, the heartache and grief can be great. I hope that you can be comforted knowing that God cares for you and sees your pain. (1 Peter 5:7) "He is close to the brokenhearted and He saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18) May you find comfort and relief during this grievous time, as you cherish the precious memories of Arthur.
