Obituary for Carrol Voss

Carrol M. Voss, “Doc” as he was affectionately known, 98 of New Harbor, Maine, passed away at his home on the afternoon of June 10, 2018. Born on February 4, 1920 in China, he was the son of Herman and Sadie Voss.

Carrol joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Naval Aviator during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he earned his PhD in entomology from the University of Wisconsin, and would go on to become a pioneer in helicopter agricultural aviation. Carrol, his wife Jo, and their family moved to Gettysburg, PA in 1957, where he founded AgRotors Inc.

Doc served on the Board of Directors of Helicopter Association International, and later in life had a passion for collecting and restoring antique helicopters. He was active in the Rotary Club, and stayed in Gettysburg until retiring to New Harbor, Maine in 1984.
