It is with great sadness that the family of Emma Adelaide Smith-Ackley, born on April 21, 1934, announces her passing after a long battle with illness, on the evening of July 1, 2018, at the age of 84.

Emma was predeceased by her husband, Fred Lang-Ackley; one sibling; and one child.

She is survived by two siblings, Anita and Carole; seven children; sixteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Emma spent the last few years of her life making friends and memories at Cove's Edge Nursing Facility, and the family sincerely appreciates the loving care she received in her final days a Miles Memorial Hospital.

A time of visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00am, on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street in Damariscotta. A funeral service in memory of Emma will follow at 11:00am, also at the funeral home.
