Condolence: Roger had such a gentle kindness about him. He was full of knowledge, wisdom, and a true love of and appreciation for nature. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. I am greatly saddened by his passing. My heart goes out to Susan, and to all of his family and friends.

Condolence: We were shocked and saddened to read about Roger’s passing in the newspaper. He was one of the first people we met on our walks around Rutherford Island. His girls and our Rose were good friends. The last time we met Roger on a walk, he shared some of his past memories of early work, the service, where he had lived, and it was amazing to find so many similarities to our own history. That same day, he invited us to see the view from his backyard. We will remember that day always. We will truly miss seeing Roger and the girls on our daily walks. He was a kind and gentle person. We feel honored to have known him. Susan, we are so sorry for your loss.

Condolence From: Emily & Dick MacKenzie
Condolence: We will always be walking the roads on Rutherford Island expecting to run into Roger and those wonderful Golden Retrievers. We would stop and exchange dog-talk as well as chats on a variety of topics. He was filled with a caring, quiet attitude toward life. No words can adequately express how greatly he will be missed by anyone who had the great good fortune to know him. Susan, our hearts go out to you.
