Obituary for Steve Genthner

Steve Genthner
Stephen L. Genthner, 50 of Damariscotta, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of December 31, 2018. He was born to Billie Hariff and Richard Genthner on December 17, 1968 at St. Mary’s in Lewiston. He grew up, and went to local schools in Lisbon.

Around the age of 20, Steve became a lobsterman in Round Pond, following in his father’s footsteps. About a decade ago, he became a contractor and proprietor of Coastal Roof Restoration and Home Improvement, proving hard work and perseverance were key to success.

Steve was a no-nonsense sort of man, who was always honest, jovial and wore his heart on his sleeve. He was well known and liked within the community, and was always one you could count on to share a beer with and have a laugh. He will be missed.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Billie and Richard.

He is survived by his son, Kyle Genthner and his partner Catrina Cozens; his siblings, Michael Miller, Karen Crichald, Rebecca Horr, Bruce Renchy, Ricky Sawtell, Glenn Griffin, William Genthner, and Heath Genthner; his other mother, Carol Genthner; and his ex-wife, Traci Genthner.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 10th from 4-6pm at the Strong-Hancock, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta. A celebration of life will follow the gathering at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post 42 in Damariscotta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543. Condolences, and messages for his family, may be expressed by visiting: www.StrongHancock.com.
