Obituary for Robert E. "Bob" Huson

Robert E. "Bob"  Huson
Robert (Bob) Elliot Huson of Damariscotta and Bremen, ME, died at his home in Schooner Cove on November 26, 2010. He was born June 7, 1926 in Wollaston, MA to the late Clarence and Ann (Elliot) Huson. His childhood years were spent in Wynnewood, PA and Boston, MA. He graduated from The Noble & Greenough School and Amherst College - Class of 1950.

Bob served in the United States Navy on the Herbert C. Jones destroyer escort in the South Pacific during World War II. During his career, Bob worked in the building materials field in sales and marketing. He retired from Lumber man’s Merchandising Corporation of Wayne, PA in 1994. During his career, he lived in Penn Square, PA, Newtown, CT, Short Hills, NJ and Paoli, PA.

Bob Huson is survived by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth (Betty) Dalbeck Huson; 3 children – Robert Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of St. Louis, MO, Richard and his wife, Lynn, of New Bern, NC and Elizabeth Huson Finegan and her husband, Caleb, of Indiana, PA; 6 grandchildren – Mark Huson of Baltimore, MD, Kimberly Huson Zorch and her husband Robert of Richmond, VA, Noah and Jack Finegan of Indiana, PA, John Relic of St. Louis, MO, and Matthew Fair of Providence, RI. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Dalbeck, and his wife, Shirley Dalbeck, of Cape Elizabeth, ME and their children and grandchildren. He loved his family and friends, his cottage on Biscay Pond, sailing, tennis, skiing with his children, and all dogs.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle, ME on December 2, 2010 at 3:00pm.
