Back in the 60's I was in pioneer girls at the church. Ruth became my pioneer pal. That means she was a special grown up friend that took an interest in your life. Went on outings, had you over to supper, swimming etc. At Christmas and my birthday I got a small token gift from her, usually something she made or bought at Newbury's or Woolworths. She was friends with my mother Muriel Thurston and I will always remember her as my pioneer pal that had hugs and fun things planned. A sweet, sweet woman. God bless you Ruth.
