Obituary for Peter F. Timoney

Peter F.  Timoney
Peter Francis Timoney, 61 of Chamberlain, Maine, died Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2018 at his home.
He was born April 10, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts a son of the late James and Florence (Kelley) Timoney.
Peter grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of Newton North High School a member of the class of 1974. He earned his Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician certification from East Coast Aero Tech in Bedford, Massachusetts. Following graduation he began his career in the United States Air Force. He joined the 102nd Flight Wing at Otis Air National Guard Base as a crew chief and retired as a fight chief at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He retired to Maine in 2008.
Peter loved riding motorcycles, shooting at the range, fishing, and spending time with his two Boston Terriers, Harry & Herbie. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard.
In addition to his loving wife of more than twenty-nine years, Peggy (Layton) Timoney of Chamberlain, Maine, Peter is survived by two brothers: Paul E. Timoney of East Falmouth, Massachusetts and Lawrence P. Timoney of Hyannis, Massachusetts; a sister, Ellen O’Dell and her husband Reverend Andrew R, O’Dell of Charleston, SC; a niece, Lily O’Dell; nephew, Andrew O’Dell; and several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation 9AM - 10AM on Tuesday morning, February 27, 2018 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, Maine where a funeral will follow at 10AM with the Reverend Andrew O’Dell officiating. Interment will be that afternoon at 1PM in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine.
Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Peter’s memory to the Owls Head Transportation Museum, P.O. Box # 277, Owls Head, Maine 04854.
