Condolence: Jim and I were friends. On my monthly visits we discussed his years in the Marines and in industry. He also asked many questions about the furniture business - questions that conveyed keen intelligence and an understanding of the issues of being in business.
Because he valued it's beauty, Jim took care of my mother's land which bordered his. His meticulous care meant it always looked suspect. Jim had a deep respect for this area and often asked questions about the history and "how things were." He truly loved Pemaquid.
Several years ago he and Joyce hosted me on a visit to Folly Beach in March. I never told him how much I enjoyed the trip - somehow it seemed impossible to express in words.
I shall miss my visits and my calls with Jim. He was a wonderful friend.
