Condolences

Condolence From: Greg Carlson
Condolence: As I was checking out different racing things on the internet I came upon this amazing woman who built and raced stock cars. I knew nothing about her but my thoughts and prayers go out to her family members. I am very sorry.

Condolence: My dear Mark and Cynthia, using this avenue to reach out to you never occurred to me. I'm so totally sad for you guys and hurting until I'm afraid of saying something wrong or sounding insensitive. Mark I believe you know that I genuinely love that wonderful young lady because we communicate as parent and mentor as I tried to provide her the opportunity to race in the top tiers of NASCAR. She was good enough. It came down to whom is fortunate enough as the opportunity is so fleeting.
I hope that the two of you might find the will, even as you grieve to reach out to me. The when isn't nearly as important as the reason.
Love you both,
Wendell Jr & the Scott Racing Family

Condolence: I met Katie in Cosmetology school. I can remember it so clearly on the first day, when she pulled up next to me, rolled down her window and asked if I was here for Cosmetology classes. From then on, we were the best of friends. We would meet in the mornings, leave and she would let me follow her home in the evening since we both lived near each other. We spent the rest of our teachings side by side and though we had our ups and downs, Katie was always there to make sure I was okay. Whether it was needing an extra comb or even studying for our exams, we were each others go-to for whatever. Our graduation day was the happiest because Katie, some other young ladies and myself were the few that stuck it out, worked our butts off and walked across that stage to receive our Cosmetology degree! I am sorry we didn't keep in touch. I wonder that maybe if we did, could I have helped or have said something to keep her spirits high. I will always remember Katie as such a sweet, adventurous and selfless person and I inspire to do amazing acts of kindness just as she did for others, for others and for Katie. I miss you, I love you, rest and race in paradise.

Condolence: Mark and Cindy,
It was such a pleasure getting to know you and your family when we lived next door. Meeting and talking with Katy out on the deck was one of the blessings of that period of our lives. I live in MA now and am so sad to hear of Katy's passing. Please know what a blessing she was to so many people. God bless you both. With love, Carol

Condolence: Katie was enrolled at Mitchell Community College during my time there as the Cosmetology Program Coordinator.
I can attest to all of the beautiful things that have been shared about her character and personality to be true and consistent.
Speaking from my own experience with depression and mental health challenges, I just pray that Katie is at peace and all is well with her soul. It is certainly a daily challenge to accept the cards dealt to you in life, move on and just hold on.....
Katie will be fondly remembered and cherished for the memories that she left me with!
May God bless and keep the Hagar family as you continue to adjust to Katie's departure from this universe into her next journey.

Condolence: The turnout at 1812 this afternoon was incredible, and it only represents a portion of the lives she touched. In my own experience, i do not think that anything that anyone says or does can prevent a suicide. Just like a car accident, we think ‘if only..’ but there is no failure on anyone’s part. Life is precious. Please know that our whole community cares about all of you. We hold you in our hearts. XO!! Karen
