Condolence From: Laurie Robbins
Condolence: I just uploaded a picture of Doug and the Madison New Jersey Fire Department in 1969 from facebook.I hope it was ok to share this.Mr. Doug was a nice man and had a warm smile. He happily wore his fire coat and loved to watch golf and was proud of his family and Navy service. We are caregivers but at times we get a glimpse into the real person and so many have neat stories to tell.Doug was quite an artist and one of the last pics he drew was of a chicken and of course I am partial to that as I have a pet chicken. He often would come out on evening shift while I was at the med cart and another staff was in the kitchen. He would smile and ask if things were all set and we would reply thank you we run a tight ship here.He was sitting near the tree before Christmas and was talking to Alexa and she asked what is your name and he replied Douglas .She then asked him how he was today and he replied fine. Then the Bristol Boy Scout troop came in with gifts and to visit and it was a heartwarming experience to see the older men converse with the younger.Doug was strong and brave and his daughter Dru visited often and we will miss seeing her and her dads warm smile and send sincere sympathy to all of Dougs family and friends and will never forget him .

Condolence: My sympathies to the family, for your loss. I hope that you are able to take comfort in the memories of a life well-lived, lessons imparted, and a rest well-deserved.

I'll always remember the good times we had
Remember the man, my wonderful dad
I'll remember you each and every day
And if I need to talk to you, I'll just sit down and pray. ~ Debra Marie
